For All Vendors - Person Centered Planning

By 2019 Person Centered Planning will become an entitlement for all individuals served by Regional Centers. In preparation of these changes Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC) is instituting some changes in our Individual Program Plan (IPP) process.

A group of   32 Service Coordinators at FNRC has begun piloting a new IPP format effective February 1, 2016. The new IPP format embraces a more person centered approach. The new IPP and the Annual review will be combined into one document. All IPPs will be completed on an annual basis and services identified in the IPP will be authorized for a period of one year.

Many of the changes being implemented will be a benefit to both individuals served by FNRC and to service providers. It is our sincere hope that changing the authorization periods will resolve billing issues that arise when authorizations are not in place. To assist with this process, service providers will be asked to submit the annual ISP in the client’s birth month, regardless of when the client begins receiving services. This will mean that an initial assessment is completed at the time a service begins and the first annual ISP is due in the birth month. All quarterly reports and semi annual reports will be due in the appropriate interval based on the birth month. This change will take place effective 07/01/16.

In the months to come, you will receive information about Person Centered Planning and be notified of opportunities to have your staff trained on the use of Person Centered Practices.

Thank you for the service and support you provide to our clients.
