About the Festival

FOCUS Film Festival
Focus Film Festival explores documentary and feature films which “focus” on and examine the complexity of the human experience: disability, culture, relationships, aging, lifestyle, and more. Festival events are held throughout the year in the Redding community and annually on the CSU campus in Chico.

The Festival features productions from a wide range of sources bringing Northstate audiences an opportunity to experience innovation, creativity, and diverse perspectives through the medium of film. The Festival offers Academic Credit through California State University, Chico.

FOCUS Film Festival is a project of Far Northern Regional Center, a non-profit organization that provides services and supports to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Support of Local Artists
Each year the Festival selects original artwork from a local artist to be printed into a full color, limited edition poster. The artist receives 100% of the profit from sales.

Screening Committee
The Festival welcomes community members to join our screening committee. We are also looking for a professional jury to select the winners of the Filmmakers Competition.

Sponsorship
FOCUS Film Festival is funded by grants and community support. By becoming a co-sponsor you directly support community education, awareness, and understanding of people with disabilities.

In return, with a donation of $50 or more, you will receive a VIP Access Pass to FOCUS events in the venue of your choice and inclusion of your logo and/or name in Festival programs, website, and advertising where possible. Cash and in-kind contributions are tax deductible. For more information, contact Mary Ann Weston, (530) 222-4791.
