Little Red Hen Kids and Kitchens  

A new business to Chico, Little Red Hen Kids and Kitchens features everything from hard to find cooking gadgets, upscale tableware and accessories, cookbooks, potholders, specialty oils and sauces, an awesome assortment of refrigerator magnets and a whole lot more. The store also offers everything a kid might need to learn the art of cooking. The stock is priced well, artfully displayed and presented in an atmosphere so fun and engaging it’s hard to leave.

This site will include a food co-op called the Pantry Coop where food and household supplies will be purchased in bulk and members can choose from a wide variety of stock that is repackaged for one or two people. The focus is on healthy eating and food preparation. Cooking demonstrations and workshops on living a healthy lifestyle will be offered as well as classes on budgeting, shopping, and how to find a job.

The Chico community will soon enjoy Park and Garden, a display garden located near the store and behind Spiterie's Deli. Coming soon: 12-14 planter beds will be available for adults living independently who don't have the opportunity to grow their own produce. Gardening instruction on growing fresh produce is included.

The store employs six individuals with disabilities who start at minimum wage and will have plenty of opportunity for advancement.
