Celebrate the Artists

April 23, 2021 Melissa Gruhler

Cory Smith, Naomi Rose and Seija Wellendorf’s pieces of art were chosen for the Celebration of Heroes art contest.  The Celebration of Heroes committee expressed their appreciation by presenting the three successful artists with a plaque featuring the art work.

To the Artists, we thank you for the gift you have given the Celebration of Heroes program.  Your artwork will touch many lives. Together, your pieces of art will remind everyone of the Celebration of Heroes Mission  – “Providing a stage to show gratitude to people who are creating acceptance and opportunities for persons with varying abilities from everyday heroes to Superheroes“

Naomi Rose

“Being a hero is speaking out for yourself,,,, It means I’m strong. Strongness. Being strong and standing up and speaking your rights. Celebration of heroes means that there are more ways that lives are saved.”  —Naomi Rose

Seija Wellendorf

“I took art classes in high school and my love of art has stayed with me.  I appreciate Far Northern Regional Center and send my love to everyone.” – Seija Wellendorf

Cory Smith

This program provides a way to celebrate,  “all those amazing people in my life and in the life of others who are making a difference in their communities and in the lives of the individuals they touch. I feel very honored to be selected as one of the 3 artist whose image will be the actual logo for celebration of heroes.  Now wherever this program goes a part of my art will follow too.”
