Celebration of Heroes

November 17, 2020 Cory Smith

The Far Northern Regional Center and the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) North State Regional Office will be coming together to recognize heroes in 9 counties covered in the Far Northern service area. Next year there will be a new way to recognize the people who truly make a difference to their communities and to each one of us.  Celebration of Heroes is going to recognize our friends, our family and the people in our community in a new and personal way.

Heroes are more than people with super powers or who wear capes.  They aren’t always out there fighting crime and saving us from the bad guys.  Heroes are everyday people like you and me who quietly are making a difference.  They are people who are helping make the place we live a true community.

I am excited to also share that beginning next week we are going to be launching an art contest where the Winner’s art will be featured as the logo.  Look for a flyer with more information to follow this article.  Deadline for submission will be December 15, 2020.

Looking forward to all the wonderful art submissions that will be flooding our committee. Stay tuned for a future article in which you will learn more about the winner!  Until then look for a Super Flyer coming your way!
