REDDING, Calif. — Far Northern Regional Center is proud to announce the generous donation of backpacks by JD Residential Services Inc., aimed at supporting children in need as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
Jeremy Potter, the owner of JD Residential Services Inc., has been a long-standing provider of residential homes and is well-acquainted with the challenges faced by families, particularly those struggling financially.
Potter’s dedication to giving back is deeply rooted in his extensive experience within the provider community. Having worked in adult residential facilities for more than 13 years and being a licensee for almost five years, Potter is well aware of the everyday struggles many families face.
“We actually do a lot of donations from the company throughout the year,” Potter explained. “We do a $1,000 scholarship for Central Valley High School, and we buy Christmas gifts for a family in need selected by Kristen Ferreira, who runs Housing Access Services at Nor Cal Residential.”
The idea for the backpack donation emerged from Potter’s personal experience while shopping for his own children’s school supplies. Realizing that many families affiliated with the regional center might also be in need, he presented the idea to the JD Residential team, who eagerly supported the initiative.
“We felt that everyone should have what is needed to succeed,” Potter said. “I also have a son with a disability and I work with the regional center on a personal level as well.”
This act of kindness by JD Residential Services Inc. exemplifies the positive impact that community-oriented businesses can have on the lives of individuals and families in need. Far Northern Regional Center is deeply grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to making a difference.
