National Core Indicators – Child Family Survey

January 13, 2016 Adam Knight

The National Core Indicators are standard measures used by many states to assess how people feel about the services they receive from the regional center and the developmental disability system. The Child Family Survey is being sent out to all families with children 3-18 years of age living at home and receiving at least one service from the regional center, other than case management. The survey is being conducted by mail from November 2015 through June 2016 by the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD). The questions on the survey address key areas including inclusion, choice, health and safety.

The responses to the survey will assist California and the developmental disability system improve services at the state and local levels. The survey should only take about 20 minutes and all responses are confidential.

If you receive a survey, please complete the survey so that you can assist with the improvement in services for those individuals with developmental disabilities.

Further information can be found at the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) website under Quality Assurance/National Core Indicators.
