Next Steps for Laura Larson

January 29, 2019 Guest Writer

Executive Director Laura Larson has communicated that she will be leaving Far Northern Regional Center after 35 years of steadfast service to our north state community. She has held the position of Executive Director of FNRC for the last 23 years. Prior to working for Far Northern Regional Center, she worked as the Executive Director of the Area 2 Board on Developmental    Disabilities. Her targeted departure date is June 30th, 2019.

Families and people with developmental disabilities recognize Laura’s creative contributions to providing meaningful options to traditional day services and “the way it was always done.” People with developmental disabilities see her as a loyal friend, who honored their hidden dreams, and supported opportunities that helped them grow and become the men and woman they were meant to be. She had faith in the art of possibility and believed in building communities that nourished the space where everyone could blossom and discover their hidden gifts and unlimited potential.

Ronda Dever, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, has appointed a Selection Committee to begin the search for a new director. She will release procedural directives soon.
