RATE ADJUSTMENT DUE TO INCREASE IN SICK LEAVE MANDATE

May 16, 2024 Audra Feeback

Dear Provider:

Senate Bill (SB) 616 modifies the Health Workplaces, Healthy Families act of 2014. This entitles employees who work on or after January 1, 2024, to accrue 40 hours or 5 days of sick leave or paid time off by the 200th calendar day of employment, each calendar year or 12 month period. Title 17, California Code of Regulations (CCR) allows vendors to request a rate increase, if necessary, in order to comply with the new sick leave mandate.

Regional Center vendors with rates set through negotiation by Regional Centers must submit rate adjustment requests directly to Far Northern Regional Center no later than July 1, 2024.

To request a rate adjustment, vendors with rates set through negotiation with Regional Centers must fill out an adjustment worksheet specific to the Regional Center and email it to rates@farnorthernrc.org. Please click here [XLSM, 71.02 KB] to download the worksheet.

Vendors with rates set by the Department of Developmental Services (Department), must use the Department specific worksheet and submit directly to the Department. You can find the worksheet on the Department’s website by visiting www.dds.ca.gov and selecting “vendors” on the top of the page, selecting “Rate Changes” on the middle left of the page, and selecting “Learn More” on “Sick Leave (SB616)”

Vendors must submit actual employment and mandated employer cost information for affected employees only and total program units of service provided for any consecutive three month period January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023.

Please scan your completed worksheet including the signed summary and certification sheet and email to rates@farnorthernrc.org, or mail to:

Far Northern Regional Center
Attn: Audra Feeback, Chief Financial Officer
P.O. Box 492418
Redding, CA 96049-2418
