Effective July 1, 2014, the minimum wage in California will increase from $8.00 to $9.00 per hour. The proposed budget and accompanying proposed budget trailer bill assumes many vendors will either receive, or be eligible to request, a rate increase if necessary to adjust employees’ pay to comply with the new minimum wage.
