Stephen J. Wampler Foundation, (Camp Wamp)

March 20, 2018 Adam Knight

CAMP WAMP is a camp for kids with PHYSICAL disabilities near Lake Tahoe in California.  If you go to their website, you will see that Camp Wamp was founded by a man, Stephen Wampler, who has a severe form of cerebral palsy.  Steve attended a wilderness camp as a child, and it enhanced his life so much that he devoted his career to sending kids from all over America at no cost to their family! The kids of Camp Wamp, ages 10-18, all have disabilities, but that does not keep them from having the time of their lives at camp.  They canoe, sleep under the stars, hike on their counselors’ backs, have survivor challenges, put on skits, sing around the camp fire, and make life-long friends while also changing their lives forever. CAMP WAMP would love to hear about kids you know of who might want to attend CAMP WAMP in the summer of 2018!  Here are some additional details: Website: www.wamplerfoundation.org Location of Camp Wamp:  Soda Springs, CA Sessions for 2018:  July 8- July 13th, July 15-20, July 29- Aug 3, Aug 5-10 Children will need to get to Sacramento (site to be determined), and will be boarded onto a bus with their counselors staff, and all equipment. Full time nurse on staff at all times. Medical Form Camper Application A Camper’s Experience
