Tips to Safely Celebrate the Fourth of July

July 2, 2020 Christine Austin

  • Safest to celebrate with the people with whom you live.
  • Do not go to large gatherings – if you are around individuals who are at higher risk, no more than 10 people should be present.
  • Keep your distance of six feet from others and wear a mask or cloth face covering.
  • Carry hand sanitizer and use frequently and after touching frequently touched objects.
  • Do not share food or drinks. Use disposable utensils and dishes. Wear gloves to serve food.
  • Have hand sanitizer, baby wipes, and trashcans in several places for easy access.
  • Avoid buffet style foods and opt for single serve/individually wrapped items instead. Write names on drink cups.
  • If you really want to hug someone, give an air high five instead while keeping 6 feet between you.
  • If riding in a vehicle with people you don’t live with, have everyone wear a mask.

Fun 4th of July Activities with physical distancing to Enjoy

  • Backyard movies
  • Arts and crafts – each person with their own art supplies
  • Plan a picnic where each person has their own blanket to sit on
  • Sprinkler fun
  • Have some fun with glow sticks
