In response to questions from regional centers regarding the current status of the Uniform Holiday Schedule, we wanted to pass on the following information:
Payment for services provided on Cesar Chavez Day can be made. The injunction blocking implementation of the Uniform Holiday Schedule is currently in place. In response to the recent US Supreme Court decision, the state has requested that the court lift the injunction and allow the Uniform Holiday Schedule to be implemented. The state has asked the court to rule on this before the next scheduled holiday (May 25). Any decision will be only for future holidays and will not be retroactive. So, if the court lifts the injunction on May 30 and vendors have already provided services on May 25, regional centers would still be able to pay for those services as well.
