C.A.S.H Grows

CALLING ALL SENIOR HEROES – C.A.S.H.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning additional information that may help you to determine your interest in applying for a Job Coach position with one of our providers.  The providers accepting applications are listed at the end of this introductory narrative.

Who we are:  Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC) is one of 21 community-based, non-profit agencies throughout California that serve children and adults with developmental disabilities. Regional Centers offer case management services, and help purchase and coordinate services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

What we do:  FNRC provides case management services, support and advocacy for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a nine (9) county area including; Butte, Shasta, Modoc, Trinity, Glenn, Lassen, Plumas, Tehama and Siskiyou.   We work with community based organizations to give our clients the opportunity to live and work independently within the communities we serve.

Vendors/Providers:  For regional centers to fulfill their objectives, they secure these services and supports from qualified local service providers and vendors.  “Vendor” and “provider” are the words used to describe the community professionals who provide direct services.

What does a job coach do:  Job coaches are individuals who specialize in assisting individuals with disabilities to learn and accurately carry out job assignments.  Job coaches provide one-on-one training tailored to the needs of the employee.  They coach the employee to work more and more on his/her own until completely self-sufficient and able to perform job duties accurately and effectively without assistance.

What will I do as a Job Coach:   Work with individuals with cognitive impairments, provide assistance in note taking, support in increasing memory or concentration, help with managing emotions, stress or anxiety, learn proper business etiquette, understand and follow schedules and deadlines, improve workplace socialization skills and develop work skills.

Typical basic job requirements:  High school diploma, CA driver’s license, ability to pass fingerprint and background checks. Transporting individuals in your personal vehicle is not required. Job specific training will be provided by your employer (one of FNRC’s community partners/providers).

We appreciate your interest and consideration in joining our team of providers serving and helping individuals with disabilities to live productive lives as important members of our community.  A career as a job coach is very rewarding and an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.
